News from the Girls Oakley Session in Ruka next weekend

Ruka, Finland - 7 April, 2010 - If you have not heard of Oakley Girlsessions yet, clean up your computer screen as you are in for a scoop. The booming success of 19-year old rookie Enni Rukajärvi (FIN) on the TTR Tour this year, which culminated with her taking home the Swatch TTR World Snowboard Champion Trophy, has put her local hill Ruka in Finland in the spotlight of the snowboarding world. The event that sparked her competitive career was none other than the 3Star Oakley Girlsessions, held in the Battery Park in Ruka. It is an event that has with its fun loving and progressive attitude been nurturing the female snowboarding talents of this Northern country for 7 years now.

The Oakley Girlsessions has got a pretty clear formula - it is about getting together, having fun and pushing the progression of snowboarding and bringing out the talent. Year by year more girls have ventured up to the exotic North of Finland to get a glimpse of this mystical snowpark that gives birth to so many talents. This year a total of 80 girls from 8 different countries of all levels have signed up to participate in the various activities of this event.

The Oakley Girlsession has grown over the many years and joining the TTR tour last year has put it on the world map of competitions as a 3Star event. This year the event will be dishing out a total $3000USD prize money which makes the total prize purse worth $10.000USD. This 4 day snowboarding extravaganza for the girls includes many side events such as a night time rail jam, photo shoots, coaching, bowling, parties and much much more. Don’t miss out.
