About one week ago winter has arrived in the Austrian Alps with a big bang. Within a few days more than 1 meter of fresh snow fell upon the glaciers. Now the winter season is officially opened up. Snowboarders, freeskiers, mountain-lovers and tourists alike swarmed into the glacier resorts - there were happy faces to be seen all over the place. Here are some impressions from the last days in the mountains. It was so much fun!

Some of the most inspirational women within boardsports, coming from all over Europe and overseas, will be gathering in Saas-Fee for a long weekend of networking, learning and sharing. Participants will also get to enjoy the unique Saas-Fee resort with spa treatments, yoga classes, delicious food and of course some snowboarding. Saas Fee September

Hello everybody! I’ve just gotten home after a week in Saas Fee, Switzerland. And I can tell you that my season finally has started again. I was there with the B-National team and we had an absolute fantastic week. The park was hard and icy in the mornings, but that just gave me some time in the pipe. I must say that there’s a lot of the technical stuff I have forgotten in the pipe, but we had coaches there to give us some clues, and I felt my riding getting better every day.

Earlier in the week some of the boys had walked up to a place called Michabel Hutte, a cabin almost at the top of one of the mountains at an altitude of 3360 meter above sea level. They said it was sooooo exhausting. We just had to try it for ourselves. So Cecilia Larsen, Maria Jones and I started off. The boys were right, sooo exhausting, but we got to the top and we managed to get down again just before it got dark. We were so proud of ourselves. I've also attached a photo that proves that we were on the top.. haha.

And I got some really good news when I got home: I’m finally going to get my first add, yeah. It’s in the next edition of the Norwegian magazine Fri Flyt.

We had the Fri Flyt Awards party this weekend. I was nominated for “Best female snowboarder of the year”. I didn’t win, not surprising. - hehe. I was nominated along with Kjersti Buaas, Lisa Wiik and Helene Olafsen.. Helene won, congratulations!

Austrian Les Ettes teamrider Vani Waldenhofer reports from Val Senales

Trip to the Gentlemen Riders Park in Val Senales

Just right after the Dachstein Park-Closing, some shredheads from Blue Tomato – Franki, Alex, Jürgen, Tanja and myself - decided to start a short trip to the beautiful Val Senales / South Tirol. The Gentlemen Riders built a really cool park up there and they managed a great stay for our crew (Grazie for that!!). On the first day we wanted to start everything easy, when we realized that the park already closes at 1:00 p.m. every day, so we decided to get up even more early on the next days and try to get some shots done in the mornings.

Well it’s always the same, when you are motivated the most, the weather will pretty sure fuck everything up! The rain in the night and some fog on the mountain on the next day, made us to kick the shooting plans and we had another easy riding day. On the afternoon we started a trip to Meran, probably one of the most beautiful cities in South Tirol. On the next 2 days the weather was pretty cool and even the snow was not too slushy, so we even managed to get some shots back home to Schladming. Besides the shred, we enjoyed a great season-end party with the Gentlemen Riders! Well, for sure we will be up to come to Val Senales next year again! It was a great time!

Fidji Time with Les Ettes Snowboarder Anne-Flore Marxer

We left New Zealand in our snowboard gear and landed in Fiji in our bikinis! Vanessa and I had decided to stop over on our way to California and seriously that was the idea of the century!

My Billabong team manager Andrew had the same idea and was staying in Tavarua, and somehow we got lucky enough to be able to join him there for a few days. It was Paradise!! The Island is so pretty, everyone is so nice and the surf was soo good!

We went straight to Cloudbreak(super sick lefthander) as we arrived. I was pretty scared as I m not a master in terms of duck diving yet and the reef is pretty mean there. The first thing that happened was a pro surfer who had just smashed his head into the reef and had blood all over his face with a broken nose. No big deal, we all got back into the water after that. Andrew was killing it! I even got to catch a wave,wow! That one wave made my whole day, i was so stoked on it that i didn’t even try to catch another one!

Hello everyone,

I’ve been traveling heavily the last couple months and i have a couple news to share with you. I will begin with the Billabong Shoot in New Zealand we just had.

Going to cold winter in the middle of the summer feels always funny. I always forget half of my gear and get half sick. This time we all got sick at some point. Luckily the Fifa Xbox game kept all of us happy and alive through the down days. The house was quite full and I was staying in an RV through the whole trip - and most of you already know it is my favorite! I really enjoyed hanging out with all my team mates, Sylvain, Clint, Jenny, Wolle, Jamie etc.. .them and Vanessa, Eric, Woody, Andrew, Danielle, Nick and David.

I arrived right on a sunny day with powder. We went up to Treble Cone and slashed some pow - the view is beautiful from up there over looking Wanaka’s lake. The next day was still sunny and we took the opportunity to go heli boarding...

Summer update from our Uk rider Gemma Marshall

My summer started with a wicked week in Miami with the Nikita crew for the summer 2010 catalog shoot, that was an amazing week (thanks Nikita :-)). Then I started working at a local children's nursery looking after children under 2 years old, who are all so cute!

After that I went back to America for a 3 week holiday with my family and boyfriend. We travelled to L.A. and Las Vegas which of course was sick... And I won $100 dollars on a 25 cent slot machine! Woo! Back home I had to go back to work to carry on saving up for my second season in Morzine, France.

Last weekend I've been in Norwich for a Snow Tour competition. I entered all three comps - Boardercross, Slopestyle and Big Air. I won overall boardercross and came second in my age category for both slopetyle and big air :-)

Now I've got to do a few more England competitions before I set off to Morzine so I'll keep you updated.
