LES ETTES SMELL GOOD

Les Ettes is the first cosmetics company only targeted towards the core female boardriders. ”When we first approached ISPO and asked if we could have a stand here, they told us that we were the first cosmetics company in ISPO history,” says Carmela Fleury – an exceptionally charming snowboarder and founder of Les Ettes, with a background from both Burton and Onboard. ”We are three girls who love riding snowboards and want to promote a world we know.”
The scents are developed by one of the ten best perfume artists, or "noses" as the jargon holds, of our time, and produced in Paris. Pierre B. is usually employed by the likes of Yves Saint Laurent and Dior, but he liked the idea of creating something for a totally new market, so he agreed to work with Les Ettes. ”It’s quite an honour”, explains Stine Schjott-Quist, the main marketing person out of the trio. ”Normally when a company wants to hire Pierre B. for his services it would cost an absolute fortune, but the fact that he did this for us for practically nothing shows how interesting Les Ettes is, even for him.”
There are two scents ”Love-Ette” and ”Want-Ette” in the product range. ”Love-Ette” is described as ”Feminine, soft and sweet. It holds light notes of iris root”, while the ”Want-Ette” is described as ”Fruity, clean and fresh. It holds light notes of fig.”
Les Ettes will only produce non-alcoholic fragrances, sold in 50ml light weight re-usable plastic bottles.
So far Les Ette’s team consists of three of the best snowboarders in the world; Natasza Zurek, Jenny Jones and Anne-Flore Marxer, and the plan is to expand the team with both skaters and surfers. The Innsbruck based brand can be found in boardshops from Sweden to Spain and the Europe wide launch will happen in a short month from now.
